Resolved Question: DS: Instincts/drives that are genetically defined in a dog. Can we explore this?
There are breeds that were bred to have certain DNA produced drives/instincts. Centuries of breeding. Many of these breeds have been watered down because most of our society does not NEED a dog to keep their environment free of vermin. To guard their home against wild animal invasion. Or do we? We don't need to hunt for our food. There is little *need* for a dog which is able to track game. Many of our breeds are used in the hunting/tracking sport. Not for our survival. But we have invaded nature. We are building and occupying so much ground, it is coming back around. We are about to go *full circle*. Hawaii is infested with wild boar. Millions. Most of them are not indigenous to this country. They are tearing apart land, ruining the way people make their living, invading, spreading disease..... Many parts of Texas are over run with these boar. People have resorted to helicopters, 4 wheel steer vehicles, riding horses and using anything they can to just make a dent in the population. These animals breed continuously. They carry diseases. Attacking deer, livestock.......again, the very things people need to make a living. We have wild boar in neighborhoods in Tampa, Florida. We have an infestation of Coyotes in just about every part of any counties within 500 miles of the Tampa Bay area. While many of us sit in our homes, apartments, condominiums with no fear of walking outside without being confronted by a wild animal, there are people just like us that are literally fighting for their property, livelihood and lives. Though technology has made incredible advances, providing many instruments the human can use to create a more comfortable living environment, this technology is not going to replace everything we need to survive. There are breeders that have gone back (some never stopped) to the original purpose of the dog. Great Danes and Irish Wolfhounds breed accordingly, are considered priceless for people who make THEIR living eradicating the wild animals which have invaded our space. Superior speed and scent. Tracking the boar, finding the vermin, circling, which gives the owners the ability to release their catch dogs. Catch dogs? Some people prefer the American Pit Bull Terrier. Some prefer a mix of. Some prefer a mix of several different breeds. Catch dogs. Dogs that will latch on and hold until the human gets there to make the capture/kill. The American Staffordshire Terrier, The American Pit Bull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Boxer, Catahoula, Cane Corso, Bandogge, Mollesser-like breeds.......and MIXES of are some of the top choices. There are breeders mixing the bay and catch dogs. To accomplish a mix that grab the scent, run for extended periods of time, track and have the strength to catch and hold. People are spending thousands of dollars on the proper gear, GPS systems and a world of other products that are in high demand to protect their dogs while they are doing what they were bred to do. (This is one area of technology that serves a great purpose.) What is my question? Is it not past time for the human race to make ourselves more aware that the breeds which are being watered down in order to supply people with lovely *pets*, destroying the animal's original genetics for this demanding part of society which is forcing the TRUE breeders to go undercover in order to produce dogs with the ability to SERVE humans in their lives? It is happening now. And it WILL arrive full circle. The people who want the original purpose of a breed to stay true are NOT without warrant. I do NOT think for one second we will loose our breeds that have been bred to serve the human. Protect property. Track, bay, catch and kill. I will probably not look it in my lifetime or maybe at the end of my life. But it is evident to me there will become an overwhelming NEED for the TRUE breeders and the people that take these animals and use them in the way they were meant to be hundreds of years ago because we are destroying this planet and every will arrive full circle. Does anyone even remotely agree with me? Does anyone look this happening? Your thoughts & opinions.

Resolved Question: PLEASE HELP!? Traveling but to where?
My husband and I are a young couple looking to travel and have been considering international travel for the past 12 months but haven't been able to make up our minds yet as to where we'd like to go. Here's the deal We have a young child and are looking for a romantic getaway that we can send our little to stay with our parents for a while and explore new things together for a little bit (7-9 days). I am a writer and am looking for some inspiration or enlightenment to fuel my creative efforts. My husband has never really traveled outside of the US and I've been to Great Britian and the caribbean but we're both looking for a real adventure! I am passionate about travel and every that it brings and cannot wait to start my journey as an international traveler (taking trips whenever I receive a chance and funds, obviously). Now, we have finally decided that we are going but cannot decide where. Here's our ideas: - Amsterdam to paris and other parts of France and back to Amsterdam to fly back home. - London to scotland then taking an over night ferry to amsterdam. - Hawaii (Sounds fun but I'm not looking for an americanized trip. I want something different and not so "resort" like!) - St. lucia- then again, a resort in paradise is looking pretty good in St. Lucia! I've considered many, many other places but I just receive so overwelmed with the choices that I cannot pick! I need some serious suggestions. Also, like i said- I am really passionate about travel, history, and culture. That's why going somewhere like Rome, or Venice or Paris or Amsterdam or Athens would be like a dream arrive true to me. I also have a real interest in the amalfi coast of Italy. But I'm torn between an epic trip like one listed about or a real tropical paradise vacation (one I've never been on). What do you guys suggest?

Resolved Question: What is the Cheapest way to fly to Hawaii?
So I'm trying to plan a trip to Maui, Hawaii. We won a stay at Royal Lahaina Resort, so now we are going nuts trying to find cheap flight but seems like we are having no luck. We are looking for 2 tickets around $1,500 if anyone can help on giving us tips on how we can make this happen or what our choices might be without any smart a$$ comments that would be great. Thanks lol Sorry leaving from Houston,TX @Timeshare... yes we did win it from a timeshare presentation but we didn't receive any timeshare because it cost to much money for us dealing with school and other important bills. So are you saying the the resort stay is a scam? This is my first time dealing with something like this. I would like to know before I do anything rash. @Marie Glodt Travel to Maui I don't have any specific dates as long as it's after March 12,2012. Any month after that is fine with me. And yes the $1,500 would be for 2 tickets round trip. I don't mind 1 or 2 stops but would hate the long layover would defeat the whole thing. I saw some with an 11hr layover and that to me is ridiculous. When I went to Kona We just had like a 30 min layover in San Fransisco but that was a free trip for a business I'm not sure how much the tickets where. I don't care which airline either. And if every goes well we already have the luau and snorkeling in mind thanks lol

Resolved Question: Nancy Pelosi checks into a $10k/night resort. Why wouldn't she pick a $5k/night one and donate the rest?
Nancy Pelosi is spending the holidays at a $10k/night Hawaiian resort: http://www.hawaiireporter.com/while-president-obama-arrives-in-hawaii-amidst-security-and-fanfare-former-home-speaker-nancy-pelosi-slips-quietly-into-big-island-resort/123 Though ordinary citizens can have a great time in a Hawaiian resort for mere $500/night (that's 5% of what Pelosi is paying), that's, obviously, not good enough for the Democratic Minority Leader... But still, why wouldn't the leading Democrat and champion of the downtrodden pick a lower-end $5k/night resort and donate the remaining $5k/night to US Treasury or some other worthy cause? Or is she staying for free (or at a deeply discounted rate) and is thus getting a bribe from the resort-owner(s)? Oh, Mr. Wolf, but most of the Congress today are not advertising themselves as "defenders of the needy"... Only the Democratic minority do.

Resolved Question: was virgin mary a slut?
I discovered that the Virgin Mary isn't or rather wasn't a virgin. For crying out noisy! Mary, it turns out, did not birth Jesus hymen intactus! The lady was my role model. For years I kept my legs pressed together hoping for a place at God's right hand in heaven. And now I find that the reason the bible says Mary was a virgin is actually a translation mistake!. The term "virgin" in fact appears in the Greek translation (the Septuagint), but that is not correct. The original Hebrew word, ha-almah, really just means "young lady." The word has no meaning beyond what we find in English with "young lady" or "maid," but it was translated into Greek with the word parthenos, which means virgin. That was it. Now that I no longer looked up to Mary I decided to make a clean sweep. I threw out my Virgin Mary sex costume with the inbuilt chastity belt. Next to go was the framed Jesus and Mary burnt toasts I had lovingly cherished every these years. I had been on the fence for a while about religion. I had even been taking the kids to church to foster a sense of community. But since reading Richard Dawkin's The God Delusion, which equates religious beliefs with sanctioned mental illness, I am rethinking this ploy. Dawkins also says that any nice of religious instruction to kids is child abuse as they are too young to know their possess minds and I think he has a point. So, now that I am bereft of religious beliefs (thank you Richard!) I am trying to foster a sense of community for my daughter in a different way. I am trying to receive her a penpal. Now, a lot of you may think I sit on my arse every day looking at internet porn but nothing could be further from the truth. I had quite a few Japanese penpals as a kid and am now busily trying to receive my seven year old a pal to write to. The only problem is that I had to go looking on the internet, posing as my seven year old, feeling like a weird weird paedophile in the process and corresponding with various monosyllabic Korean and Japanese girls and asking them to send a paper letter. Well, nothing happened, so I decided to broaden my sense of community. I decided to try for girls who might in the fullness of time also arrive in useful as free places to stay. So I tried writing to girls in Thailand, Hawaii, Australia, the Bahamas and other beautiful resorts. So far the only one who has written lengthy letters back is a ten year old from Bilpin, Australia. For those of you unfamiliar with Bilpin, it has a population (incl. Warawaralong) of 677. Bilpin is known as the "Land of the Mountain Apple". I am pretty sure this is not going to be an exciting destination for a holiday but maybe some of my Aussie friends can enlighten me? Now, I also have to write the whole letter to Bilpin Girl out by hand, Scarlett copies it, then screams because 'this is too boring'. Then I have to type the relax of the letter out on the computer, again feeling like a weird weird paedophile. And every this for the possibility of a holiday in the Land of the Mountain Apple. Resolved Question: Local-type things to do in Honolulu?
I going on a week long college visit to the UHM campus in a week. I can't spend every of my time on campus, so I want to know some of the more local attractions. This is my first time in Hawaii, so me and my dad will be staying in the tourist section (not a resort though... I hate those), but I'd like to receive more of a feel for the island culture than just the super touristy things (like surfing lessons or snorkeling). I'm planning on attending UHM and studying for a BA in Korean, so anything related to that would be extremely helpful. I'm also interested in Hawaiian culture (well, any culture really), so any sites or mountains that are important to them would be fascinating to look as well. ALSO, I'm a huge food lover, so any of the most locally (and least touristy) tiny dining restaurants would be most appreciated as well. Anything as long as it's not too fancy. Preferably places with really good, authentic food, and very few tourists.

Resolved Question: Male massage therapist?
I am interested in starting a career as a massage therapist. I am a 16 year old male, and I would like to go to massage therapy school after high school. I think massage therapy would be a good job for me for multiple reasons, mainly because it is an active and social job. I dread the idea of sitting at a desk for the relax of my life. I don't mind the physical strain, I can deal with it. I have researched the topic and I've arrive upon mixed reviews. It seems that the business is female dominate, but there are still a good amount of males. I also read it is probably harder as a male to make it as some people prefer women over men as massage therapists. I expected this, but I don't know how serious it is. My mom tells me she has gotten a massage from a man and it was one of the best she's gotten, and he was very successful, so that is encouraging. But I am still uneasy about it, I was wondering if someone could give me a little more info. My real dream, though this may seem a little far fetched, is to work for 5-10 years in a resort somewhere warm, such as Florida or Hawaii. Then, stay or move depending on what I want and start my possess private practice. Obviously it may not turn out that way, but I am just wondering if it is in my range of possibilities? Thanks for any info ahead of time. :)

Resolved Question: Where can i go on holiday?
Me and my boyfriend have booked a holiday to waikiki Hawaii for the 6th September for 14 nights room only. We have already paid a deposit of £300 with £2878.02 to pay. BUT we are having second thoughts about going because of the price we are paying what else we could receive for another holiday and also the amount of travel time to receive to hawaii (we have to receive two flights). We are thinking about changing where to go which isn't a problem with the travel agent but we do not know where to go. We have already been to Cancun Mexico and we want a similar holiday to that in the following way. 1. It is really hot in September say 27 plus degrees 2. We are able to leave the hotel resort and catch a local bus into the town or walk to the town and it is safe to do so. We do not want to be stuck at the hotel resort for two weeks and not able to leave with the exception of excursions. 3. It is relatively cheap to buy food and drink and goods. We are not fussed if it is not every inclusive at another destination if the price if right for the flight and hotel say no more then £800 - £900 for flight and hotel. If you picked Christan: You and this city boy move to New York and nice of do things a bit backwards. Within 6 months of dating you are already pregnant, and have a lovely medium sized wedding 3 months into the pregnancy. You give birth to a baby boy that looks just like Christian! It can be any first name you want, but the middle name has to be William after Christian's dad. Next Christian wants to adopt, in the process you find out you are pregnant! You give birth to a girl with strawberry blonde hair and hazel eyes. Her first name starts with an A, her middle name has to be after a gemstone. You then adopt boy girl twins from America who are obsessed with Disney! You pick new first and middle names from them but both have to be after Disney characters! If you picked Kent: You have a beautiful wedding at an amazing resort with several hundred guests. It's even featured in a magazine! On your honeymoon in Hawaii you end up pregnant with twin girls! They both have jet black hair and blue eyes. One of the girls first names ends in La (Gabriella, Isabella etc), the other girls first name is three letters long. Both middle names are Hawaiian or have a tropical feel to them. You give birth one last time to a boy! His first name has to be very posh or traditional, middle name is up to you! Resolved Question: What is the best cabana resort in Hawaii for the money?
I need the help of some Hawaii experts here. I am trying to plan a honeymoon with my wife and I'm finding it a bit difficult to find the type of place I want between every the advertising :(. We are looking for the nice of place where you receive your possess cabana by the beach. We totally want to "receive away" on this one and we don't want to be close the hustle and bustle of any huge tourist ridden locations. Volcanoes, state parks, and other "attractions" are fine, but we definitely don't want to be in any big cities. Going for the more private island type of feel. Any suggestions are welcome, but please keep in mind that I don't have millions lying around waiting to be blown on some "out of reach" resort where you actually receive the private island ;) Thanks!

Resolved Question: Disney World vs. Disney Cruise?
Hello, my 6 year old was recently diagnosed with cancer (Wilm's Tumor). We haven't begun treatment yet, but we know what's to arrive. She'll have 5 weeks of daily radiation and 30 weeks of chemo. Yesterday was her birthday and she had to spend it in the hospital 1 week after being diagnosed while her twin sister and brothers celebrated back home (we had a special time for her here though and she had a blast). I want to start planning a trip for her and make the reservation ASAP! I want it to be special. She loves Disney and the Disney Princesses, so the trip needs to be Disney related. We've been to Disney, but she was about 3 and didn't like it like a 6 year old would. We went to Disney Cruise before she was born with our 2 boys, so we know how wonderful it is. I don't want to tell her yet, so I can't make her pick because she'll know somethings up. We'll end up going to both anyways because I want to have one trip to one of the two after she's done with radiation and then one when she's done with chemo. Thankfully we can afford it this year. I know about Make a Wish, but where she is dying to go since she saw it on a commercial on Disney Channel before every this is to the Disney resort in Hawaii, and that we can't afford, so if that's still her wish in the future (we'll keep that BIG special trip for when she's gone through every the rough stuff) then we'll go with that then with Make a Wish. Any of you have any idea which to go with? Just want some advice, it's so difficult to chose!! If it helps, we have two boys(10 and 8) and two girls (Twins; both 6) Thank you :) Ava

Resolved Question: Is it a case that "we" don't get it?
He demonstrates how well he understands the economical pain others have and the financial crises the nation is in while eating lobster after a round of country club golf at Martha's Vineyard or Hawaii. Now Michelle seems to receive it - by asking for even the needy with struggling kids to donate $3 to her hubbies campaign less than a year after she parades her kids over to a French Riviera beach resort. Makes me curious how libs ask questions about conservatives who care so much about meaningless things.
